This exotic powder comes from the Sandal Tree which is an evergreen tree that grows in India. The heartwood or the center of the trunk is harvested and grounded into powder. Astringent, disinfectant, diuretic, expectorant, stimulant. The medicinal properties of sandalwood reside in the oil, which can be pressed from the wood or extracted with alcohol or water. The Sandalwood Powder has fine particles which provides a gentle exfoliating action, and helps unblock pores and remove dirt and flaking skin. It is said to have mild antibacterial properties and can act as a light cleanser. Sandalwood Powder has a light, delicate woody scent and is considered a natural choice as an exfoliant in skin care productsThe antiseptic and disinfectant properties of this oil are similar to those of cubeb oil. The oil can also be used for bronchitis and for inflammation in mucous tissue. I made some nice sandalwood soap with this powder. It turned my soap brown though and it didn't scent my soap like I was hoping I also had to add sandalwood FO to scent it. But other then that I really like my CP soap

I placed a large order, which included the Sandalwood Powder, which I had never tried before. When I received my order, it arrived with absolutely ever item smelling like Sandalwood, as the Sandalwood is extremely strong and had only been packaged in a thin bag. I contacted Botanic Planet about this, back in August, and still have not received a reply. I have placed many orders from Botanic Planet in the past, but am not sure that I will any more. Not impressed with the lack of customer service (as in just ignore me and I'll go away, I guess). Make sure you love Sandalwood, if you are going to order it with other items, as they will all end up taking on the scent, or perhaps order the Sandalwood alone.

This is real thing, for longest I I purchased sandalwood white powder without sandalwood smell , but this is like having sandalwood tree in the house. l am so impressed with quality, I wish to give 10 stars.
